Ask Dr. Bird:
Well we’re back from a spectacular week in the southern part of New Brunswick visiting my mother-in-law. We had a great campsite close to the beach so I was able to sneak in a bit of bird-watching between family activities and eating fish and chips. We had a family of Canada Jays visit our campsite which was a lot of fun. We are in one of the only areas of Canada which Jays don’t live in so it was a real treat to finally see them.
Dr. Bird is on two segments this episode, on Ask Dr. Bird talks about the importance of fact-checking and why you shouldn’t believe everything you read on the internet and has a report on giant flightless birds in Australia and what a recent CT scan of their fossils has revealed.Great conservation stories about a Flamingo sanctuary in Turkey and how the city of Toronto responded to reports of ducklings dying from exhaustion.
Amazing, very tough-to-judge pictures on Winner’s Circle this month – it’s not easy to get a bird to stare at the camera. I didn’t mention it on the show, but next month’s theme is Spread Your Wings and Fly!
Have a great week everyone!
