Yes, you should remove the yellow funnel and keep it with your seeds. This accessory will affect the performance of your feeder if left on.

Washing your feeder regularly will keep the ventilation holes unclogged which will help to keep your seed dry. If your seed is still wet please inspect your seed tube for hairline cracks. Also, verify that the tabs are fully connected on the seed tube.

If your seed is spilling out you will need to verify that the seed blend you are using has a low millet, milo content. Black oil sunflower seeds or a high quality blend that does not contain fillers should stop this from happening.
