Winner’s Circle:

Merry Christmas Everyone! We finally got enough snow so hopefully we’ll have a white Christmas here and even though it’s been cold, it’s absolutely beautiful.

On Backyard Feeding this episode I wanted to give you a bit of history on Christmas birds, and why they’ve become so popular around this time of year – mainly the Eurasian Bullfinch, the European Robin and of course, the Northern Cardinal.

Dr. Bird answers a question about putting up Owl nestboxes in cities and which owls are likely to be found roosting in urban areas. He is also back on Brome Bird Book talking about how migratory birds tend to have lighter colored plumage than non-migratory birds.

Mariah Carey, Taylor Swift, Abba and Micheal Buble have all been passed on the charts in Australia by…Birdsong? A new album featuring the songs of 53 endangered birds has risen to the top of the charts down under!

Winner’s Circle is another amazing collection of beautiful photoshopped and non-photoshopped pictures. Looking forward to more great shots in the new year!

Merry Christmas everyone and I’ll see you again in 2022. All the best for the New Year.
