Ask Dr. Bird:
It’s so much fun that this episode is being released on Christmas Eve. We’ve had a bit of a thaw here, so I’m not sure we’re going to have a white Christmas this year but the important thing is that we are surrounded by family and friends.
On Backyard Feeding I talk about our annual Christmas tree tradition where we go to a local pesticide-free plantation and cut our own live tree. It may sound odd, but this is actually a more environmentally friendly activity than buying an artificial tree. The trees mature in about 4 years, and once Christmas is over, can be chipped, used as habitat and a number of other useful things.
Dr. Bird shows us how he sets up his backyard in Baja to attract more birds, and answers a question about Cormorants having two broods in one season. New York city is making bold moves to become more bird friendly and Winner’s Circle this contest has some absolutely breathtaking photos.
Enjoy, and have a wonderful safe Christmas.
See you soon!
